pat on the back

every now and then, it feels really nice to receive a compliment when you have done something good, like for example at work.

today, i received a personal thank you from the representative of this foreign company and he told my boss that i was really good. and he was able to meet good contacts here in japan because of my help ( ahem ahem ).

i was really worried when i started with my current job because this was drastically different from what i used to do. here i have to deal with different people, mostly people in the business management or with the business owner themselves , and i have to be extra resourceful to gather different data needed for different market sectors. i was really struggling at first and somewhat reluctant but that is me. i easily get tired of work and easily complains about anything. but i need to put those out of me — this is one of my stress coping technique. i need to blurt things out. i don’t usually keep my feelings within me. i’d go crazy if i’m like that. i remembered my boss from my previous job asked me how do i make things smooth and they have not seen me get stressed (my farewell tip for the other subleads in the team), and my stupid answer was just to smile and make friends with the people around you. stupid right? well, i am not really good with the explanation but what i was trying to say is, working harmoniously with all the people around you eliminates stress in the work place. it’s so nice to see smiling faces when you feel so down and damn tired from coding and designing of applications that you don’t even know if the client would even let you participate in the release version of it. so if you are not in good terms with the people in your work place, how do you expect to receive a smile from them, right?

ooppss… i think i am again outside the track of my original topic for this blog….so going back to my topic, it really felt great. you might say that i am a praise hungry person, but i mean who isn’t? who wants to be taken for granted? if you are, then i’m wrong. but i think, most of us wants a pat on the back from time to time.

meow!…..

Pat (rick) on the back? :-)
Job well done, cille. Yes, everyone loves praise and those who disagree that they don’t need it are hypocrites…hehehe.
